A Chill in the Air

There's a definite chill in the air today -- there was a freeze warning last night and it will be in the 40's for a high today.  So I finally called it time to close off the back room (which is really a 3 season room heat-wise) -- the cold weather is officially here!

Here are my progress pictures for this week.  And They Sinned is still in cloud formation stage.

And the Richmond Sampler (Anne Maria Clarke) is in a sort of holding stage.  I've finished all the class was assigned to do so far.

I've been cheating and stitching parts that I can stitch without consequence.  I want so much to just keep going, but there are parts that need explication and those are for the next two class assignments.  :(

I love this blue vase and couldn't wait to put it in.

In other news, the girl child is home, but only for a few days.  She wants to spend part of her midterm break at school catching up on work.  So we only have her till sometime Wednesday.  The girl has lost weight -- time for the mother to start worrying!  She assures me there's nothing to worry about, which I believe.  But I still worry of course!

The boy child has a busy couple of weeks coming up.  He has his Area All State concert Thursday night which means long rehearsals Wednesday and Thursday before the concert.  Then he has to rehearse for the pit orchestra for the hs musical which is on the 12th and 13th.  So no rest for the weary for him for a while!

We are still waiting for word about my FIL.  He's doing well considering -- still tired, but resting and doing little things that won't tire him out.

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I really love visiting with you all -- the friends I've made online are precious to me!  Have a great week, everyone!

Oh, it IS cold! I ventured to the mall to buy some more slippers for the morning umn, Necessary Trip--If I go in bare feet a this time of year, They'll freeze to the tiles and not warm up all day, lol!

I can not believe you finished that enormous house already--the beauty and speed of your needle's art are astounding! :o

Lovely progress on the two pieces - I couldn't blame you for sneaking ahead on Richmond, it's so gorgeous.

It's cold here too - we actually had our first hard frost! I guess fall is definitely here. UGH!

It's too bad that you can't have part of that sampler released early. I know what it's like to just want to keep going on something. But it looks wonderful, and so does ATS. That cloud is a killer though, isn't it?

Margaret your Richmond Sampler is GAH! GORGEOUS! Love it! And you are moving along on ATS! I still haven't ordered another cut of linen! But...guess it's not like I don't have other things to work on! ;o)

They both look great, but I really love the way Richmond Sampler is looking - beautiful!

Fabulous progress on both pieces Margaret. My personal favorite is the Richmond Sampler...what a stunning piece that is!! I bet you have enjoyed every single minute of stitching! Hugs

Both ATS and RS are just gorgeous!!!

Your ATS progress is awesome, Margaret and I love the Richmond sampler. Having graduated from college in Richmond, that one is on my to-do list (as are so many others)! Your work is a thing of beauty to behold!

Thank goodness the weather had turned a bit milder here - we have had several freezes already - uugh.

As usual your wips are looking mighty good. You are just cruising through that cloud. I love the way your Richmond sampler is coming along.

It must be the season for FIL - while we were in France, my FIL was put in the hospital with sepsis and everyone was frantically hunting us down. But we were stuck, and could not bet back any sooner. Thank goodness he is showing improvements, but it was hairy for a bit.

Love both of your WIP'S! It's getting cold here, too. I will closing up a room, as well.

It is definitely cold here, 22 when last I looked. We had our first snow of the season mid week last week. Love your progress. Makes me want to pull out ATS. Great colors in your other WIP.

It's cold here, too!! I have been putting on the heat sparingly... time to get a little less miserly with it.

ATS looks great, as does your Richmond sampler! Enjoy the time with your daughter.

They are just looking so gorgeous! WOW!!! I love following your progress :)
Have a lovely new week my friend :)
((hugs))

Ah, your projects are really lovely, Margaret! The clouds on ATS... those would be reason enough for me never to attempt that one. Everyone who's stitched it complains about the dreaded clouds!

40's?! Brrrr!! Stay warm Margaret.

"Cloud formation"...I laughed at this. That is one huge cloud but your progress is amazing! RS is looking great too.

Your Richmond Sampler is just beautiful. ATS is coming along. Those clouds look so boring to stitch:)

It's getting cold here too but I'm ready for it. This summer was miserably hot.

Oh Margaret, I can't wait for you to continue stitching your Richmond Sampler either !!! LOL.... I really want to see it finished. It is absolutely beautiful... I won't get tired of saying it.. you are a super fast stitcher. Where do you find the time, girl?? Before you know you'll have And They Sinned finished too !!

Liz said...

Well, it's still cold here too but it definitely shouldn't be, we're only a month away from summer now, time to heat up some I think. We have rooms that we don't use in the winter too, just ridiculous to heat them really. Your stitching is going beautifully, but then I wouldn't expect anything else really from you :o)

Glad that it is finally getting cooler, more time inside to stitch and not worry over much about the garden.

Your stitching is looking good.

Glad 'girl'child is home for a bit. Good luck to 'boy' child with his concerts and performances.

Your stitching is just beautiful. You are making fabulous progress on them both.

Good luck to your son on getting everything done. :) As a former music person I so understand the long rehearsal times. :)

So, I watch your progress on Richmond every week and I have finally determined that the only possible hope I have for finishing ahead of you (and mind you I started in March!) is the fact that you have to wait for some of the instructions. At the moment, you have passed me by and your sampler is looking totally fabulous! Isn't this a fun one to stitch?? I posted an updated progress pic on my blog yesterday, finally. I also love your ATS...that looks like such a fun piece!

Your progress is just great Margaret! I love that Richmond Sampler, just wonderful!

I know what you mean about the cold moving in. It's been down right cold here too. Perfect stitching weather.

Nice progress Margaret on your samplers.
It has been cold here too, hopefully better temps later in the week.
Good to hear your FIL is not getting any worse, fingers xx
Have a good concert with your boy Thursday, wished I could here it :))

Love both your samplers!!!! Richmond is gorgeous, I don't blame you for wanting to keep stitching :-).

What wonderful pieces they both are, Margaret. I would really have a hard time holding back on doing more work on the Richmond Sampler, too!! Do you get your fingers slapped with a ruler if you venture on too far ahead of the others in the class :)

I love stitching on these cold fall days, don't you?

Marjorie said...

As always, your work is gorgeous! We need more Mia pictures, though...and please, please send me some cold! It's 90 here today, and warmer tomorrow--some fall weather!

Gorgeous progress, keep up the great stitching!

I hear you all might be blowing some cooler weather down our way but it's not here yet - still in the 80's during the day - AARGGHH - I'm sick of it ! LOVE your progress shots Margaret - both samplers are just so lovely! I never cease to be amazed at how fast you can stitch a huge BAP ! Mel

Brigitte said...

Your progress pictures always inspire me. Whenever I see your big projects I want to get out one of my own BAPs and continue stitching on it. But I have to be careful - after having found my stitching mojo again I think it's better for me to stay with the smaller projects for a while. And just to look at other stitchers' BAPs, lol.
Very nice progress!

These are both continuing to look wonderful! Enjoy the girl child being home for a few days and wishing the boy child good luck!

Everything is just beautiful as always. It is getting really chilly here too.

Oh my - such beautiful samplers. I love them. No wonder you wanted to sneak ahead on Richmond. It would be hard to put down.

Have a great visit with DD and wish your DS the best with all he has to do. Our daughter plays violin and I often wonder how she finds time for her music along with your busy work schedule. I think musical people are just very organized and great time managers.

Gotta love this time of the year! It's perfect for sitting by the fire, stitching. Hmm, then how come I'm working too much? :)
Oh, Margaret, your samplers are fantastic!!! You always make me want to drop everything!
Good thoughts for your fil's continued recovery!

Holy cow you are caught up with me on ATS and I started in January!!! I'd better get a move on. Love love love Richmond. You are speeding along. Too funny that you are cheating on your homework. Glad to hear your FIL is doing ok. Sending my prayers as always.

Margaret,

Your pieces continue to amaze and thrill me every time I see them. HOW on earth do you have time to stitch????

The stitching class you are taking for Richmond..are they hard? I too don't blame you for wanting to plow on ahead...even I would be hard pressed to stop and say "No more for now!" LOL

Hugs and Love to you and your family, hope your FIL gets better soon,
