Color

As I've said before, color seems to be the big draw for me when it comes to what I stitch.  Thus my attraction to what I picked up to stitch next.

EF 1864 Sampler by Christy Schmitz & Vickie LoPiccolo Jennett
from SANQ magazine, Summer 2011
40ct Vintage Sand Dune
NPI called for
I've had this one kitted up since it first came out.  The colors are wonderful.

This is what I've gotten done so far.

So pretty!

Here are a few pictures of the only child left in the house at the moment, Mia.  Up to all sorts of things.

Mia's current favorite place to sleep (besides my lap).  Yup, she's under there.

She's not actually interested in what I'm doing on the computer.  She just wants me to stop doing what I'm doing on the computer.  lol!

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week!

That's one big sampler of sunshine, that's for sure! It's nice to find a sampler that just fits your mood! I am once again, searching for mine!

Mia is cute. I wish my two were as cuddly. I think because they have each other they only "love" me when they want food or a good stroking!

Wow! Love this sampler. You're right...beautiful colors.

I get such a kick out of your snaps of Mia :) One of our kitties (a flame point Siamese) loves to be covered up like that on the bed. When he gets hungry in the afternoon he comes in the computer room and taps me on the arm to let me know he's ready. Don't ya just love 'em??

That sampler has been near the top of my Must Stitch list too Margaret! Beautiful!! Mia is playing Where's Waldo?

I understand the thing with the colours very well. I'm exactly the same. When I see a sampler or a quilt with different reds and pinks I always think I must make them. Great start on this vibrant sampler you chose!

I love the picture of Mia draped over your arm. There's a saying about the cat being a cross between a lion and a monkey; I think she's deep into monkey phase on this one. As for enjoying colorful samplers - why not? We humans have some of the most color sensitive eyes in the animal kingdom. What we lack in say, night vision or acuity (We can't see a mouse move from 300 feet aloft) we make up for in our sensitivity to shade and hue. So we may as well enjoy it!

Hi Margaret! I am thrilled to see you stitching this sampler. I have loved it from the first time I saw it on the cover of SANQ. I just started SL 'Maria Ignacia Olivera' which has very similar colors, and was fretting over the bright hues. Your stitching always inspires me, and so after reading this post I decided to put all my worries aside and just imbrace the beautiful colors ... thank you! I will enjoy following your progress on '1864 EF'. She is a pretty one and looks like a delight to stitch.

Yep! That's a lot of beautiful colors. And a bunch of cute kitty.
